388. C.1840, French, Early One Piece brass cased carriage clock, unsigned. This time, strike, alarm unit is in the style of Paul Garnier. Small chip in top glass; rest OK; runs, strikes and alarms. Note: we believe the case may (?) be assembled incorrectly, as the front glass slides up and out; we feel the front glass should be fixed and the rear brass panel should carry the beveled molding and slide out. The detail is so fine that it would be difficult to distinguish at a glance from the original. EXCEPT that this clock has a simple time & strike pendulum movement (30 hour) and the planetarial dials are purely for decoration. Runs but bell strike needs adjustment. Dimensions = 7" x 5" x 12" high. This is a rare reproduction of a priceless museum piece (sold sister to this clock 2 years ago) $2000-2500

409-a. 19th Century, Japan, Very Rare Striking stick clock (note nearly twice the size of timepiece).
Again the "hood" is recent (although I scraped loads of nicotine off) and this hood is screwed on with a brass bracket and is thus inconvenient to remove. The spring driven strike train is itself the weight that powers the clock; when you wind the time fully, a hole in the throat lines up with the winding stud of the strike movement. 621. C.1845, Elisha Manross, Forestville, Conn, good 8-day OOG. This is a nice original clock with original finish, dial, hands, mirror and label [with tears]. Even retains old zinc dust covers over pulleys. I think just about anyone would enjoy this OG; ht 29" $150-250
622. c.1840, Smith & Bros, 7.5 Bowrey, New York, a neat early 30 hour wooden works OG. The tablet has been crudely restored [looks OK from a distance] and the case with veneer repairs along the perimeter molding. Best part is a super label with an image of Smith Bros establishment. Anyone liking NY labels would like this; not tall, extra deep case; ht 28" $150-200
623. C.1845, H. Welton [at the Old Stand of Eli Terry], 30 hour OG with brass movement. Note large dimension of case: height = 28.5" and depth 5". Has good wooden dial with raised gilt corners, brass Maltese hands [now black] and a good full label [with some stains]. Original finish with nice crazed patina. Orig wavy mirror. Another collectible OG. $175-225

All of the Eastlake carving is intact, tablet with some wear, dial a little dark. 8-day T/S/Alarm movement is clean and running. Ready to enjoy; ht 19" $150-200
