Antique Clocks & Instruments

Our ‘99 Spring auction consists of the lifetime collection of Mr. John Russell of Wantagh, NY, and 120 clocks from the collection of Jim Lowe [Vermont], plus deaccessioned items from the American Clock & Watch Museum of Bristol, Conn. Most of the beginner & intermediate level clocks are organized into the Saturday evening session; better items selling Sunday. [Sunday lots begin at 251] Note that unique American & European items are offered both days.

Again we have retained the services of horologist, Chris Bailey, to provide descriptions that will allow you to bid with confidence. Moreover, we guarantee our catalog details: if we define a lot by model, for instance: Seth Thomas Regulator #2 or E. Howard #5 Banjo you may be assured that the movement is the correct model for the case with no unexplained holes in the backboard, and that the movement bears appropriate factory markings. Exceptions are clearly noted.

Registration: You need a number to bid and you must present proof of identity in order to receive a bidding number. Absentee bidders are registered automatically on receipt of the absentee bid form. We reserve the right to refuse registration and/or bids.

Condition of lots: Our description of each lot is as thorough as space permits, and the extent of any damage or repairs should be confirmed by personal examination. The final decision to bid, and the amount to bid is at your own discretion and liability. All lots are as-is.

Clock weights have been removed to reduce the possibility of damage, and are stored along the back wall. See the weight master when checking out.

Buyer’s Premium: 10% Stated simply, if your $50 bid wins, your invoice will total $55. There is NO sales tax.

Payment should be made and the item(s) removed on sale day. If possible, we ask that you wait until the end of the day’s session.

Sales are conducted in catalog order; we accept personal checks with proper ID; no charge cards at this time.

If you plan to attend and are driving from out of the area, a lodging reservation for Saturday night is highly recommended. Rooms at the Holiday Inn [603-893-5511] are around $70, Susse Chalet across the street [800-524-2538] around $50, or Red Roof Inn under Expwy, [800-843-7663].
