Bob Schmitt's

Summer Silent Auction Details

We thank you for your continued participation in our auctions. This offering provides a broad selection of commercial and novelty items that will appeal to a great number of beginning collectors. There are a few sleepers as well, so be sure to look carefully.

The bid form you'll find by selecting it above is similar to those you've seen from other dealers, but there are some differences in the way we handle your bid. Please read the following terms carefully, as I think when you finish reading them, you'll see we are giving the buyer all of the advantages of a live auction without having to spend gas or plane fare to get here:

  1. There is a 10% fee or premium added to the final invoice for our services. Here is how we earn that fee:
  2. We will attempt to purchase items for you as cheaply as possible. For instance, if an item has 2 bids, one for $100, and one for $200, the bid would go to the second person for one increment (see below) over $100, ($10 in this case), so the successful bid would be $110. His invoice would read:
    Lot A . . . . . . $110 Buyer's premium . + 11
      TOTAL . . . . . $121
  3. Increments are as follows:
    Last Bid Increment $0 -- 100 $5 $101 -- 200 $10
      $201 -- 500 $25 $501 -- 1000 $50 over $1000 Approx 10% of last
      bid
  4. You may, if you choose, bid odd cents on this auction (but please not in October). Your bid will always be one increment over the closest bid.
  5. You should be sure to fill in the box "Maximum $ I want to spend"
  6. Prioritize your bids; simply stated, the item you want MOST will be #1. When we reach your maximum budgeted amount, we'll stop bidding for you.
