001.   C.1920, English, Tambour, or Napoleon hat clock, dark oak case, 8-day, gong strike.  Condition:  This clock came to us from storage, and the movement looks a bit dry, however, it is still ticking and striking.  The silvered brass dial has some bulges where it was pressed out from the rear.  Decorative.  Ht 9"  $30--$50

002.   C.1920, German, Kienzle, Tambour, or Napoleon hat clock, oak case, 8-day time and strike.  Condition:  This clock has been restored, the case refinished and the movement cleaned.  Strikes the hours and halves on a coiled cathedral gong.  Movement marked with flying dial, Kienzle trademark.  Ht 8"  $40--$60

003.   C.1870, E. N. Welch, Cottage clock, 30-hour time & strike, rosewood veneer.  Condition:  the finish has been stripped, there are veneer chips along the base, dial with flakes, tablet showing "horns of plenty" is nice.  Movement appears clean.  Ht 12"   $75--$100

004.   C.1870, E. N. Welch, Cottage timepiece, 30-hour, with restoration.  Condition:  the rosewood veneer is in pretty good shape;  door has been painted gold, tablet touched up.  Movement appears clean and running.  Ht 10"  $75--$100

005.   C.1880, E. Ingraham GRECIAN 8-day, time and strike, in a figured ash case.  Condition:  the case has been nicely refinished, and the dial re-papered.  The hands are old but from another clock; retains original green label in good condition.  Running. Ht 15"  $250--$350

006.   C.1885, Seth Thomas, CHICAGO model, 8-day time and strike shelf clock.  Condition:  generally fair to good condition, the door is warped & mis-aligned, the gilding on the columns worn; bell now held on with a machine screw.  Movement is complete, runs and strikes.  Ht 17"  $150--$200

007.   C.1890, Seth Thomas, Walnut Gingerbread clock with leveling spirit, 8-day time and strike with alarm.  Condition:  the case has been refinished;  original dial is intact but worn.  This model has the fancy hook on pendulum; note large movement with winding holes in the nickeled bezel rather than through the dial. Front glass is now Clear {should have design} Runs and strikes.  Ht 23"  $150--$200

008.   C.1920, German, Dark Oak cased box clock, with bim-bam strike, barley twist door, and 3 panes of beveled glass.  Condition:  This clock came from a retail shop and has been cleaned; is running and striking OK. Very minor wear to numerals on silvered brass dial.   Ht 29"  $100--$150

009.   C.1925, Sessions HALIFAX, 8-day time and strike banjo clock, mahogany case with original card-stock tablet.  Condition:  this clock is in clean condition, with original finish and original 2-note bim-bam strike intact.  This is one of the smaller pendulum regulated, 8-day banjos made.  Ht 27"  $100--$150

010.   C.1913, New Haven Clock Co., SAN PEDRO, mission oak shelf clock, 8-day gong strike.  Condition:  This clock is in original condition with Flemish oak finish.  Hands, numerals and pendulum are also original.  This clock sold new in 1913 for $5.80.  Ht 19"  $75--$125

011.   C.1914, Ansonia Clock Co., DORVAL, 8-day time and strike, 4-glass Crystal regulator, small size.  Condition:  This clock is clean and running.  The brass case has some discoloration which needs only polishing to clear up.  The pendulum has had the imitation vials with zinc inserts replaced with real mercury tubes, which looks fine, but is not correct.  French style hands are too short for this dial, but fit hub OK.  Ht 8.7"   $150--$200

012.   C.1935, German, 30-hour time/strike cuckoo clock, in Bavarian Chalet motif.  Little windows on each side the cuckoo door light up from a battery activated by the cuckoo.  Condition: The small case is in very nice condition with original pendulum and weights. An exceptional little clock.  Ht 10.5"   $75--$125

013.   C.1878 Ansonia Clock Co.,  30-hour novelty timepiece, in the shape of a horse shoe with an spread eagle on top {all a single casting}, and the rear strut is a cast horse's leg. We couldn't find this in the catalog as the examples you find there are later.   Condition: General wear to the case and the finish.  The original dial shows normal signs of age.  The hands are original.  Movement is fully wound and bound tight; it does tick a couple of times when you shake it.    Ht 7"   $75--$150

014.   C.1960, LeCoultre, 8-day, novelty alarm timepiece. This little alarm plays a small spring music box inside.  The case houses a jeweled escapement watch like movement.  Condition: Brass case is tarnished and is need of a cleaning.   The movement runs for a short period of time and would benefit from cleaning.  The music box is operational {with encouragement}, and would also benefit from a cleaning.  Well made.  Ht 5"   $100--$200

015.   C.1955, LeCoultre "Atmos", perpetual wind mantel timepiece.   Condition: Brushed and polished brass case is showing its age and will need to be cleaned and polished.  The dial appears to be smoke stained and has some scratches and chipping that will need to be addressed.  The movement has the serial no. 52413.  Ht 9.25"   $225--$325

016.   C.1890, German, Spring driven wall regulator, 8-day time & strike, in a walnut case, changed movement.  Condition:  the case has lots of now inactive worm holes, lacks original top trim, now with two brass acorn finials. Die pressed brass trim adorns outside. There are vacant holes in the backboard which indicate another movement was there at one time, current t-slide bracket up on a wooden shim for spacing.  Has an excellent solid plate movement with cut pinions and a perfect porcelain dial.  Runs OK.  Ht 31"   $150--$200

017.   C.1905, German, 3-train Westminster Chime mentel clock, mahogany case with embossed arched dial and small dials for chime/ silent and fast/ slow.  Condition:  This clock is in good sound condition, but is chiming very slowly; the chimes are fully would and the time is would down, so it has not been chiming; no parts are missing and it will need only a proper cleaning to bring back regular service.  Original finish on case.  Ht 14"   $250--$350

018.   C.1885, Seth Thomas Clock Co., Drop Octagon 10" in mahogany, time only, 8-day.  Condition:  this clock is in good original condition, a couple of paint drops on the top edge of the octagon from overhead painting.  Interior instruction label is intact with minor losses.  The octagon has separated around 2.  Original dial is very good considering it is a Seth Thomas.  Ht 22"  $225--$275

019.   C.1890, Ingraham 8-day Walnut parlor clock, similar to the Ansonia King.  Condition:  this model is unknown to us, there are no extra holes in the back of the case to indicate a marriage, however we do not find this model in any of the Ingraham literature.  The spirit level in the base usually indicates it was a soap or wringer premium, so it could have been made as a premium by Ingraham.  Regardless, it is nicely restored, running and striking and a good decorator.  Ht 24"   $175--$225

020.   C.1870, Waterbury Beehive, Mahogany, 8-day time strike & alarm.  Condition:  Generally fair to good minus condition; the vertical front part of the case has been re-veneered; dial is flaking; tablet is flaking; hands are wrong; gong re-located in case.  Ht 18.5"   $125--$175

021.   C.1866, Gilbert Mfg, Winsted, Conn, 30-hour time & strike steeple, rosewood veneer.  Condition:  This clock has been cleaned and restored; the tablet is replaced with a hand painted display of sailing ships, not the proper motif for this case style {but they look good}.  The original dial with an interesting signature of Becker-Lutherup, Syracuse.  Ht 19"   $150--$200

022.   C.1885, E. Ingraham, DORIC in rosewood, 8-day time and strike with exposed pendulum.  Condition:  A generally good original clock with old crusty finish on the case; note large strip of veneer missing from front & side of base.  Ingraham used the fancy pendulum if a clear glass was specified.  Ht 16"   $90--$120

023.   C.1930, McKee Glass Co., Jenrette, Penna, A Daisy & Button pressed glass tambour in light lime color. The 30 hour movement complete & sound; original paper dial is very good, and with original hands as well.  Very minor chip near left front corner.  Height 6.25" $150--$200

024.   C.1915, New Haven, Cut Glass Novelty, with original 30-hour fit up rear wind movement.  Condition:  the cut glass case has a nice side pattern of buttons and bows, and the front and rear with a large blossom.  The porcelain dial is perfect, signed by the makers, and is in good running order.  Ht 5"   $90--$120

025.   C.1885, E. N. Welch Manufacturing Co., Forestville, Conn, 30-hour time/alarm rosewood and mahogany miniature steeple clock.   Condition: Refinished case is in nice condition, except for some dings along the bottom edge. Original painted dial has wear to the numbers.  One of the hands is not original.  The original tablet has scraped to the flower and then new background applied.  Good label.  Clean and running.  Ht 15.25"   $125--$175

026.   C.1890 William L. Gilbert Clock Co.,  30-hour time/strike rosewood veneered cottage clock.  Condition: The original upper glass has a small piece missing on one corner.  The original tablet has some restoration.  The case has been refinished and some very minor veneer loss.  The dial has had some restoration to the numbers and chipped paint areas and is now covered by a glossy clear finish. The movement, hands and pendulum are original.  Generally good.  Ht 13"   $75--$125

027.   C.1980 German, 30-hour  time & strike cuckoo clock, 2 squirrels and bird.    Condition: The small case is in very nice condition with original pendulum and weights.  The linden case is carved with good detail, and also with shingled sides and roof; in natural finish with no stain.  Ht 10.5"   $75--$125

028.   C.1890 Vincenti & Cie, 8-day time/strike French gilt spelter and marble figural mantel clock, a young lady at harvest time. Condition: The gilt spelter case has been gold painted and has turned dark.  The porcelain dial has a couple of hairline cracks and some chips on the time-side winding arbor.  The hands are original.  The serial number on the movement matches the pendulum.  The white marble parts of the case are perfect.  Ht 17.5"   $250--$300

029.   C.1910, French, Marti & Cie.  4-glass crystal with fancy dial bearing floral garlands.  Condition:  The porcelain dial goes from the F/S adjust hole down to the time winding arbor bear 4; no chips.  Strikes the hours on a large flat wire gong, and with original mercury pendulum with vials intact.  Ht 11.75   $350--$450

030.   C.1910, German, Oak Mantel regulator in a finely grained and well made oak case, with an 8-day gong strike movement.  Condition:  This clock is generally very clean; note beveled glass over pendulum aperture.  Ht 12"   $125--$175

031.   C.1870, Connecticut 30-hour Steeple {no label}, time and strike, full size.  Condition:  This clock shows wear; veneer needs attention lower right, dial is worn, hands do not match.  It does retain an interesting tablet of the "Capital at Albany, NY" that is flaking.  Ticks & strikes.  Ht 18"   $100--$150

032.   C.1905, Wm. L. Gilbert, Porcelain No. 419, 8-day time and strike mantel clock.  Condition:  The movement has been cleaned and is running; pendulum is a later replacement.  Case is clean and sound.  Rear cover to case is new.  Ht 11.5"   $275--$375

033.   C.1910, Ansonia WINNEPEG, porcelain china clock, 8-day time & gong strike with solid porcelain dial.  Condition:  This clock has been cleaned and is running.  The case has a 1/2 inch chip in the right margin, out beyond 2 o'clock; if not for this the clock would be excellent.  Ht 12"   $200--$250

034.   C.1870, Gilbert Cottage Clock, Time & Alarm, in a mahogany veneer case, 30 hour.   Condition: This clock has been attractively refinished and the movement cleaned; retains a legible rear label.  Some flaking on tablet, lower left.  Running and ready for home or shop..  Ht 12"   $75--$125

035.   C.1895 French, 8-day time/strike marble and gilt figural mantel clock and garniture set  Condition: Case has a gold type finish that appears original, but is worn in places.  The statue has a label titled: "Prisonniere par Ferrrand".  Hands appear to be replacements {hour hand is a bit too long}.  Dial has a couple of hairline cracks.  Rear dust cover is replaced. Marble is very good with just a little roughness on some of the sharp edges. The candelabra have little roughness on the marble edges, but the gilt finish has faired better.  An impressive mantel set.  Ht 19.5"   $350--$550

036.   C.1913 New Haven Clock Co., "La Caresse", 8-day time/strike spelter figural mantel clock, seated female figure, caressing a dove at her cheek.  Condition: The figure and mountings retain original bronze finish.  Porcelain dial shows stained cracks in a few places.  The hands are original.  The door glass has been replaced.  One of the side ornaments on the urn finial above the movement case has a piece broken off.  The movement is signed.  A hard to find model with only minor cosmetic detractions.  Ht 16"   $200--$300

037.   C.1920, William L. Gilbert Clock Co., 8-day time/strike mahogany mantel clock.  We couldn't find this particular model in the Gilbert catalog, but it is very good looking with 4 Corinthian columns, arched top and shaped sides.  Condition: Refinished case in very nice clean condition.  The celluloid type dial has brown staining.  The hands are original. The movement is signed.   Ht 16.25"   $125--$200

038.   C.1880 Ansonia Clock Co., "Triumph"8-day time/strike mantel clock.  Condition: Refinished case now has a coppery tone finish {metallic spray paint}.  The finials and drops are replacements.  The dial has been poorly repainted.  The statues are period.  The tablet is replacement.  Still potential for a patient workman.  Ht 19"   $275--$375

039.   C.1914 Ansonia Clock Co., "Roy"8-day time/strike crystal regulator.  Condition: Case is very clean, but needs polishing.  The porcelain dial is perfect.  The beveled glass panels are perfect.    One of the decorative nuts on the pendulum is not original.  Ht 11.25"   $250--$360

040.   C.1910, Ansonia Royal Bonn, La Mosella, porcelain china clock.  Condition:  Overall very good condition, with the exception of a 1.5" crack on the rear of the clock, from the circular opening, right to the edge, where it stops.  The case is cream colored with light aqua /gold accents and multi colored flowers.  The porcelain dial is fine.  Note this model is different than the LaMoselle, and we do NOT find this LaMosella in any literature; something rare for the Bonn collector.  Ht 13"   $350--$450

041.   C.1910, Ansonia OSCEOLA, Green porcelain china clock with open escapement.  Condition:  The top left corner of the case has an old repair where the corner tip was knocked off.  The rest of the case is in fine condition and the porcelain dial is perfect.  Ticks and strikes on a gong.  Ht 11.5"   $275--$375

042.   C.1885, Wm. L. Gilbert PARISIAN, walnut shelf clock.  Condition:  This clock is very clean and has been nicely refinished; the paper dial is dark with age; tablet original.  About 60% of the label remains on the rear.  The hour hand is original; old minute hand matches but is a little too short.  Also with extra cost cathedral gong and indicator pendulum.  Finials are original as well.  Among the early production of this model.  Ht 24"  $225--$325

043.   C.1890, German, Mini Wag, with china shield and 2.5" porcelain dial.  Condition:  the china shield/dial surround has an old crack at 2 o'clock, and the right side door is missing, and the minute hand is from a travel clock.  The movement is clean and running and striking.  The rear identified in ink:  Jockel - Schlager, and then the initials YmRn. If not for the damage to the shield, this would be a $700 clock.  Ht of shield 5"  $350--$550

044.   C.1881 Waterbury Clock Co., "Paris"8-day time/strike walnut mantel clock. This looks to be a variation on this model as the lower sidepieces are of a slightly different design and the finial and drops are more robust.   Condition: Refinished walnut case in very clean condition.  The dial has darkened from age.  There is a small piece of the figural head on the top missing {hair curls}.  Overall very good.  Ht 24.5"   $200--$300

045.   C.1890, New Haven Clock Co., 8-day time/strike French black marble & bronze mantel clock that was imported by New Haven and marketed by them.   Note bronze balusters below dial and cast swag above Condition: Minor roughness on the bottom edge of the base and a small flake on the left corner of the base.  Wear to the applied gold in the center of the dial and the name.  Hands are original and beveled door glass is perfect.   Movement is marked "Japy Freres & Cie".  Strikes on a coiled flat wire gong.  Ht 13.25"   $200--$300

046.   C.1890 French, 8-day time/strike black marble mantel clock with applied mountings and frieze.   Condition: Roughness on some of the sharp edges of the case.  Small chip on the right corner of the base.  Dial has a couple of very minor scratches.  Hands are original and bevel door glass is perfect.  Rear cover is missing.  Movement is marked "D'Aureville, Paris".  Overall very good condition.   Ht 7.75"   $175--$275

047.   C.1895 German, Royal Bonn, 8-day time/strike porcelain mantel clock, for French market.  {note dk orange trademark is in inside of base} Condition: Attractive pastel pink florals in good condition.  Porcelain dial and beveled door glass are perfect, but there is a little wear to the numerals.   The hands are original.  Note bottom sound board and gong are missing; relatively easy to replace.  Movement is well made French unit, dirty but intact. {Is original to the case}  Note this same case was imported by Seth Thomas, and sold as the "Delta" model; see 1893 ST catalog or LY reference.  {Yes there are Seth Thomas Bonns} Ht 13.5"   $300--$400

048.   C.1880 Jerome & Co., (New Haven Clock Co.) "Dreadnaught"30-hour time/alarm rosewood and mahogany octagon top cottage timepiece. Condition: Original finish case has a little veneer loss on the front half round molding.  Original painted dial has some paint loss in the center and wear to the numbers.  The hands, pendulum and tablet are original.  Nice label on the back. Clean and running; great beginners clock.   Ht 14.25"   $100--$150

049.   C.1840  Boardman & Wells, Bristol, Conn., 30-hour wood movement time/strike half-column and splat shelf clock.  Condition: Original hands, dial, pendulum and weights.  Dial in good condition, but a little soiled.  Both glasses replaced.  Minor veneer chips on case.   Top splat not original and repairs to the two chimneys.  Case refinished.  Key escutcheon replaced and veneer repair around lock area.  Generally good+  Ht 30.5"   $100--$200

049a.   C.1930, New Haven Clock Co., "Inglewood", 8-day Westminster, quarter chime mantel clock. Condition: The solid mahogany case retains original finish, shiny & nice except some edges with wear.  Best part is the fabulous original silvered dial.  Like the following lot, this clock has New Havens premium 3-train chiming movement.  With good tone; bottom label nice; + see also next lot.  Ht 12.5"   $275--$375

050.   C.1937, New Haven Clock Co., "Cloister", 8-day Westminster, quarter chime mantel clock. Condition: The solid mahogany and rosewood burl veneer case has an original finish with some minor dings and scratches.  Two very small pieces of the molding just below the front spires are missing.  The raised numbers 12 and 6 are missing on the otherwise very clean dial.  The hands and pendulum are original.  With original label & instructions. Overall good+  -Ht 13"   $225--$325

051.   C.1894 Ansonia Clock Co., "Tunis", 8-day time/strike walnut cabinet model mantel clock. Condition: Refinished case is very clean with a couple of small blisters in the veneer, on the front.  The original dial is a little soiled around the winding holes, and age has darkened it.  The hands are original.  Remains of an original label on the back.  The original movement is signed.  Overall good+  Ht 14"   $100--$150

052.   C.1898, Waterbury HARTFORD in oak and in nice restored shape.  Condition:  the case has been nicely refinished,  note top center button is absent {see Waterbury catalog for profile - you can make this}.  There is a good label on the rear.  8-day T/S/Alarm, and also note the tablet {with wear}, depicts pelicans.  From a shop, clean and running.   Ht 21.5"   $125--$175

053.   C.1895, F. Kroeber, New York, "Versailles" cast iron mantel clock with polished enamel finish and painted white metal overlay.  Condition:  The white metal portion has been painted with a coppery-gold color paint, which is a bit garish.  The movement appears to be clean and is ticking and striking OK.  Has the large Eclipse movement with restrained pendulum.  Note a small piece of the rear iron cover is broken away; not visible from the front and does not affect the operation of the clock. See, Ly's American Clocks, Vol I, page 159, clock #553.  Ht 15"   $250--$350

054.   C.1878, E. N. Welch,  BEEHIVE or Round Gothic, in rosewood with good label superb tablet.  Condition:  the movement has been cleaned and is in running order.  Pendulum is a replacement.  There is one veneer chip at the bottom of the door.  Case is refinished and the sides have turned a bit dark.  Best part is the fantastic original gold leaf tablet.  Ht 18"  $150--$250

055.   C.1953 {dated}, English, SMITH'S Westminster chime mantel clock in a walnut case, 8-day.   Condition: This is a nice clean clock with only minor scrapes, has a good movement and a nice tone. Ht 12"   $75--$125

056.   C.1900, F. Kroeber, "Pompadour" enamel over iron clock, 8-day time and strike.  Condition: This clock has been restored and the case repainted, and the trim brushed with gold paint.  The minute hand is replaced.  The movement is not signed Kroeber, nor is it the Eclipse mov't with restrained pendulum, but is original to the case.  Movement is clean and running.  Ht 18.2"   $300--$500

057.   C.1890, Ansonia Clock Co., "Rosalind", black enameled iron clock, 8-day time and strike.  Condition:  this clock is in overall good original condition; paper dial is good with Ansonia trademark visible, and the movement ticks and strikes.  Ht 12"   $175--$275

058.   C.1910, Seth Thomas LONG ALARM,  in a cast spelter case with nickel finish.  Condition:  There is some loss of nickel plating here and there; 2 machine screws that hold the movement stable in the outer case are lacking.  Original paper dial is good with minor darkening due to age.  With just a couple of screws, this becomes a very nice example of this model.  Ht 9"   $150--$200

059.   C.1920, Waltham Clock Co., Mass, a desk style picture frame clock in a mahogany case, with lancet shaped silvered dial, 8-day.  Condition:  This clock has been restored and the case stripped {needs a little more finish}.  Has a stem wind jeweled movement, and seems to run OK.   Ht 11"  $175--$275

060.   C.1910, New Haven Boudoir clock, 30-hour, gilded spelter with "brilliant" sash and fancy porcelain dial. Note pleasant motif, with clock held aloft by 2 cherubs and a happy looking porpoise on the base.   Condition:  This clock is in generally good original condition including fancy gilt hands, WITH THE exception that the main spring is broken.  A nice case worth the cost of movement repair.  Ht 14"   $90--$120

061.   C.1904, Ansonia Clock Co., CARRIAGE EXTRA, 30-hour time, strike and alarm, in excellent original condition.  Nice example.  Ht 7.5"  $150--$200

062.   C.1855, American Clock Co., cast metal front shelf clock [Muller], depicting 3 children amongst the grapes.  Condition:  The 30 hour time and strike movement will require cleaning {it is quite dirty}.  The gold spray on the case is a bit garish—refinish to suit your taste.  It is an appealing casting, especially if your trade is agriculture or grapes.  Ht 15.5"   $100--$200

063.   C.1890, German, "R-A" Spring Regulator, 8-day time and strike, in a walnut case with ebonized trim.  Condition:  Much of the finish is gone off the case.  The movement has solid plates with cut pinions and is well made.   The top of the case is new.  Ht 29"   $75--$125

064.   C.1855, Chauncey Jerome, OG Shelf clock, Mahogany veneer, 30-hour, 3-weight with integral alarm.  Condition:  The well figured crotch mahogany veneer is in good shape, and the case refinished.  Although the strike weight is new, the alarm weight is original and proper.  The tablet is now clear {and label visible}.  Ht 26"   $100--$150

065.   C.1860, Ansonia Brass Co., 30-hour OG, 2-weight time and strike.  Condition:  There are some veneer chips along the bottom band.  The tablet is a nice Fenn stencil with the American eagle, some flaking.  Retains a great original label.  Ht 26"   $100--$150

066.   C.1845, Birge, Mallory & Co., Triple Deck shelf clock, 8-day, 2-weight, with restorations.  Condition:  Feet are absent, case refinished, dial cracked horizontally.  Top portion of splat is missing. The home-made copper covered are from a Naval machine ship near Annapolis, certain to last 500 years.  Label with some losses, but legible.  Ht 35"   $300--$400

067.   C.1845, Marshall & Adams, Seneca Falls, NY, large Empire style mahogany 2-wt shelf clock.  Condition:  This clock has potential for the right New York collector.  The dial is from another clock, as are the hands. Retains original strap brass movement. It is our guess that a restorer will buy this clock and use the parts to improve other NY clocks.   Ht 34"   $300--$400

068.   C.1914, Waterbury Clock Co., THE OAK LEVER, octagonal wall clock, 8-day.  Condition:  this clock has been restored, the case refinished and the movement cleaned. The original dial is a little dark with age, but still very nice.  In running order.  Ht 11"  $200--$300

069.   C.1890, Seth Thomas BALL TOP Eclipse style walnut gingerbread, 8-day, time, strike and alarm.  Condition: this case has been refinished; the original dial is flaking and discolored, just at the point you need to restore it to appreciate the clock more.  These ball top models do not show in the ST catalog, as they were made on special order as premiums for wringer and soap companies.  Ht 24.5"   $175--$225

079.   C.1885, Gilbert "EUREKA", time, strike & simple calendar, 8-day in oak case.  Condition:  The top splat is incorrectly replaced.  See /Ly's Gilbert boo, pate 94 for a foto of the proper pressed top [like a gingerbread top]  The rest of the clock is old and original; decent label that has some tears, but among the best I've seen on this model.  Pressed base molding has been rubbed out and is a little shinier that the rest of the case.  Still an interesting piece that could be improved for the right calendar collector.  Worth $450 if correct.  Ht 26"   $200--$250

081.   Mixed lot:  A New Haven 30 double spring, 30 day movement, now in a meter pendulum walnut case.  Condition:  This movement has been mounted into the case on its New Haven iron base; telltale holes in the case back show where another movement was present.  The dial pan has been cut and painted to fit this movement.  Use as is for a large decorator or use for good parts.  Ht 55"   $250--$300

Kroeber, NY, CLINTON walnut cased shelf clock, 8-day time, strike & alarm with optional indicator pendulum.  Condition:  This case has been refinished, and the very tip, about a quarter inch of the top of the door is missing.  The tablet is new and is a rub-on, and is on the outside of the glass; belongs on the inside.  Dial is dark from age, dirt and wear.  Best part of this clock is the pendulum, which is worth a hundred bucks if you need it.  Ht 19.75"  $175--$275

097.   C.1910 Winterhalder & Hoffmeier {movement marked with die stamp spelling out full name}8-day Westminster chime mantel clock, produced for J. E. Caldwell, Philada, whose name appears on the dial.  Condition: Mahogany case is in good condition with original finish, but has age cracks in the front panel and some minor scratches and damage to the finish.  The silvered dial is tarnished a little and there are scratches around the winding holes.  The beveled door glass is perfect and the hands are original.   Heavy and well made movement needs cleaning, but is complete and sound.  Large flat wire gong set has great tone. Wants a male square end key for latching the front bezel, but it does stay closed fine.  Also needs suspension spring {about $2} Overall good+ condition.   Ht 13.5"   $150--$250

Ingraham Co., "Domino", 8-day time/strike black enameled mantel clock.  Condition: Case retains original finish with gold highlights in the incised designs having faded.  The black dial has faded with age.  There is a piece of the interior backboard missing, easily restored.  The Ingraham kitchen clock pendulum is improper; should be a concentric circles with leaves on top. The movement is properly signed.  Ht 16"   $275--$325

Kroeber, "Topeka", 8-day time & strike, walnut shelf clock. Condition: the finish on the case is original; one of the little medallions on the columns is missing {common on this model}.  Ladies bust on top trim is intact. The dial has been repapered and the hands are new. 102.   C.1869, {dated label on rear} German, 8-Day Fusee Cuckoo clock in an architectural case, less pendulum and side doors.  Condition:  despite needing the items mentioned, this is a well made and early cuckoo, with a Very large and imposing bird that exposes himself at the 2 doors at the apex of the case.  The dial mask is inlaid with fretted brass, silver and pastel enamel, some inlay is lifting.  The porcelain dial is good {minor cracks around center hole}, and the hands are original.  Bellows have minor leaks but both notes report loudly; corner chips to case.  Potential here for the collector of unusual black forest items.  Ht 27"   $1,000--$1,500

103.   C.1900, Austrian, 2-Weight Vienna Regulator, oak case with porcelain dial.  Condition:  This clock has been restored, the case refinished to a lt molasses color, the movement cleaned and re-strung. The architectural top trim is a replacement, and is well made and looks fine.  The pulleys are replacements, and are adequate; fancier replacements are available from sources like Timesavers if you prefer.  Strikes the hours and halves on a coiled wire gong mounted to the rear of the movement.  Ht 45"  Good value   $400--$500

104.   C.1905, Ithaca Tall Clock, Spring driven, 8-day time and gong strike in an oak case.  Condition:  This clock came out of a house in Windham, NH, and has not run in a while, the suspension spring has broken off the top of the pendulum {about a dollar item, plus the labor to replace}.  The case has an old coat of varnish that has turned dark.  Clock retains original paper dial with rose decorations in the corners.  For detail on this model, see Ly's blue book on Longcase Clocks, page 300. Movement does tick and strike.   Ht 88"   $400--$500

106.   C.1880, Ithaca Calendar Clock Co, "Parlor Calendar No. 3.5", incomplete.   Condition:  This is a very good clock to restore.  The missing backboard is easily made and glass calendar dials can be painted; Bedco even has a rub on stencil for this pattern.  The missing center piece of the top carving can be made.  Under the white paper dial is the original black dial which could possibly be restored.  The cut glass pendulum, rollers and movements are original.  Other minor losses; day of week needs recovering; hands incorrect.  Worth $4000 if perfect.  Ht 19" {as shown}   $1,000--$1,500

106a.   C.1875 Seth Thomas Clock Co., "Office Calendar No. 2", 8-day time/calendar shelf timepiece.  Condition: Rosewood veneered case is in generally good condition with veneer losses on the base, top corners and bezels, and some lifting and bubbling. Both dials have been repainted.  Upper dial looks more recent, while the bottom has poor repairs to its renewed flaking.  Hands are original. Weight is a replacement.  Great label inside the case, and nice original rollers.  Ht 42.5"   $1,000--$1,500

107.   C.1875, Austrian, 3-Weight Grand Sonnerie walnut cased wall clock.  Condition:  other than the missing top trim and new pulleys, this is a decent original Vienna Regulator.  The movement is by Otto Wagner, Wien, and is of very high quality.  The porcelain dial is good and hands original.  Has been re-strung with monofilament that gets easily tangled; might suggest some braided Dacron.  Lots of potential if you have a top crest.  Ht as shown 41"  $900--$1,200

108.   C.1880, Austrian, Remember "Gebrüder Resch", 2-Weight Vienna Regulator, in a walnut case with ebonized trim.  Condition:  The case has been polished over with a light coat of shellac.  The well made movement ticks & strikes.  The gilt dial center and pendulum bob have an etched pattern, the pendulum depicting a hound chasing a deer on the sides, and an angel blowing a horn in the center.  The weights are nicely engraved with a similar, but not matching pattern.  Ht  43"   $500--$700

111.   Late 19th Century, German Painted shield dial wag movement, 30 hour, now in a 20th century pine case with removable hood.  Condition:  the hands are original, the dial is in xlnt shape, and movement is running.  The case is purpose made for the movement, and there is a wooden plinth that must be in place under the movement to give the correct height.  Very decorative; an affordable tall clock.  Ht 84"  $500--$700

112a.   C.1878, Ithaca Calendar Clock Co, GRANGER model., 8-day time and strike with perpetual calendar.  Condition:  This clock lost its top and someone took an Eastlake molding from another piece of furniture and put it on top; looks Ok, but deserves restoration. Otherwise, this is a great example, with a NICE printed dial and original rollers, pendulum and hands.  Some smearing  on small part of the dial where someone started to wash it.  Would be worth $1000 if correct.  Potential here.  Ht 26"  $500--$750

113.   C.1890, German, Junghans, 2-weight wall regulator in the Viennese style.  Condition:  This clock has been restored; top is new, of plywood and too small; the weights are new embossed items. All finials are new replacements, stained to match.  The movement is signed with a star J insignia, proper for Junghans, and is clean and in running order.  There is some wear to the original paper dial around 8.  Other than the restorations, ready to enjoy.  Ht 49"   $500--$700

114.   C.1890, German, 2-Weight Vienna Regulator, 8-day time and strike, on straight steel rod in case back.  Condition:  This clock has been nicely restored, the case rubbed out and a new top made for it.  The original movement has been professionally cleaned and re-strung; no extra holes in case back.  The movement has a nice locking mechanism that holds it in place {pull to right to unlock}. Note interesting porcelain dial with Arabic numerals.   Seems to run and strike fine.  Ht 51"   $500--$700

117.   C.1925, French, Westminster Box Clock,  Deco style, with square silvered dial and Arabic numerals.  Condition:  The walnut case has a few small scratches, but retains original finish. The movement cleaned, and the clock chimes on a large set of straight steel rods and with very nice tone.  One minus is the old pendulum which is from another clock, and the hook has been bent to fit the crutch on this movement; works OK.  The key shaped glass in the door is beveled.  Ht 29"  $225--$325

118.   C.1870, Seth Thomas Sons & Co., New York, pattern #8055, artist & flautist, 8-day time and strike, patinated spelter mantel clock.  Condition:  The one noticeable item for the collector is the incorrect Ansonia urn on top; don’t know where you would find a replacement.  However, it doesn’t look bad, and the movement has been recently cleaned and regulated and is running briskly.  Minute hand is a home-made replacement.  If in perfect condition, this model would bring $850.  Ht 17"   $350--$450

119.   C.1890, German, 2-Weight Vienna Regulator, 8-day time and strike wall clock, walnut with ebonized trim.  Condition:  The case to this clock has been attractively refinished and a new top made to match; there is some worm damage, with their tell-tale holes {none appear to be active}.  Porcelain dial is good; hands, pulleys, pendulum and hardware are all original.  The movement has been recently cleaned and 100% re-bushed.  Ht 53"   $500--$700

122.   C.1880, Swiss, 8-Tune Music Box, as-found.  Condition:  this box came to us from storage and is dirty, and has a broken winding click.  You can hear the tunes by rolling the cylinder manually and there is some potential.  Two tips are broken; one is repaired; damper noise.  Cylinder is 11" wide and has LOTs of teeth.  Width of box = 20"   $600--$800

123.   C.1890, French, Small Figural clock for a man's desk, a bronze spread-wing eagle just landing on some rocks.  Condition:  most of the gilding is worn away from the eagle, and there are some minor nicks to the marble case, however, overall very good.  The small timepiece movement has been cleaned, note the balance staff appears to have the top pivot broken, and still ticks amazingly, but will require attention.  Porcelain dial with polychrome decorations is very good.  Ht 6.5"  $400--$500

138.   C.1865 Ansonia Brass Co., 8-day time/strike mahogany steeple clock.   Condition: Refinished case is in good condition with a small amount of veneer loss on the base and one chimney.  There is a piece of veneer missing on the bottom edge of the door.  Both finials are chipped a little at the tips.  The original painted dial has paint loss around the mounting screws and chipped areas have been in-painted.  The Fenn tablet is very nice with just a little restoration.  The label has some loss and is dark, but readable.   Movement has been professionally cleaned and is running.  Ht 20"   $150--$200

163.   C.1832 Chauncey Boardman, 30-hour time/strike wood movement shelf clock.   Condition: Front of case has a light coat of shellac over the original finish, looks OK.  The case has some repairs to the mahogany veneer and to the chimneys.  The stenciling is original on the columns and splat.  The original painted dial is very clean.  The mirror appears to be a replacement, but the original wood backboard for the mirror is still in the door.  Overall a nice example of a column & splat.  Ht 35"   $150--$250

166.   C.1840 {dated label}, Jason R. Rawson, Saxtons River, Vt, a good Vermont square edge half column shelf clock, wood works, 30-hour.  Condition:  the case has been stripped and there are some small veneer chips at the corners of the top cornice, and other minor losses.  The original mirror {now with cardboard backing} has the silvering separating from the glass, and a bare spot.  Retains a great label {coming loose in a few places}.  Movement is sound and has been re-strung. 184.   C.1875, Austrian, 3-Weight Grand Sonnerie wall clock in a walnut case with original top/ movement from another clock.  Condition:  The slide mount movement has been cleaned and is running and striking quarter sequence on rods; note case has evidence of a 1-weight movement being installed originally..  The minute hand is a replacement.  There are spider cracks in the dial near 1 & 8.  All 3 pulleys are old; one does not match.  There are some empty worm holes from old activity that have been filled in, and other showing.  Remnants of the retailers name on the porcelain dial.  Complete and good looking.  Ht 49"   $1,000--$1,250

185.   C.1956 {dated} Chelsea Ship's Bell Clock & Barometer "Claremont" set for Tiffany & Co., New York, tu-tone brass & bronze case, presentation piece, 3.75" dials.  Condition:  This clock lived near the sea and the case has some discoloration and minor corrosion; Tiffany name on dial is partially rubbed off.  The movement was cleaned by horologist "John Metcalfe, NY" in 2000, but the sticker fell off during fotos; runs fine.  Aneroid barometer seems to be working as well.  This set was first offered in 1929 for $175.00.  The inscription reads, in part:  An Inaugural Tribute to Charles W. Dow, President, April 1956.  Width = 14",  ht 9"  $400--$600

186.   C.1845, Chauncey Jerome, Mini Empire shelf clock, time and strike /movement not original.  Condition:  this clock has been nicely restored and the crotch mahogany case is wonderful.  Retains nice paper in case back and Jerome card type label.  Originally this had a fusee movement, now with a Jerome OG movement, for which a new escape wheel has been made with extra teeth to shorten pendulum.  Wooden dial matches movement, but slightly off on case.  Despite the marriage it looks pleasant on the shelf and if you are fortunate to have a little fusee movement to put back in, you can complete an uncommon clock.  Ht 18.5"   $200--$300

187.   C.1927, Ansonia  "Sonia No. 1" Westminster chime mantel clock, with raised brass numerals and spirit level on the dial.  Condition:  This clock is in very clean original condition, running and chiming.  When new, this clock retailed for $75, a large sum at the time.  The solid plate movement is about the finest America produced at the time.  The inside of the rear door bears a brass Ansonia plaque  with the model name "Sonia", and with the struck number 1.. For details, see Ly's Ansonia book, 1998, page 430. The 2004 price update lists this at $350. Ht 10"   $275--$375

188.   C.1948, Swiss, ATMOS, perpetual running mantel clock, serial 25,275.   Condition:  This is a nice low serial number, post War clock that has been well cared for over the years. There is no major discoloration, and has a good heavy base with no stress cracks.  Dial is still good and movement appears complete and sound.  Ht 9'   $275--$325

189.   C.1845, Brewster & Ingrahams, miniature spring driven OOG, well figured mahogany case.  Condition:  This clock has experienced restoration; the case has been nicely refinished; the dial repainted and the tablet repainted also.  The repainted dial has had a crackle finish put over it which has yellowed.  The best part is the super label, with a small repair label from Calais, Maine.  Ht 17"   $250--$350

190.   C.1850, Daniel Pratt & Sons, Reading, Mass.,  8-day steeple clock case and dial /by S. B. Terry.  Condition: Mahogany veneered case is in very fine condition with original finish and a couple of veneer chips. Original painted wood dial has some very minor loss, but has an extra hole on either side that appears to be original, but for what purpose we don't know.  Two finials have some damage on the tips.  Pratt label was an overpaste of the original Terry label.  Seconds hand is old and possibly original {taped to original upper glass}.  If you are fortunate enough to have a movement you can complete a rare clock.  Our estimate here is higher than in the printed catalog.  Ht 24.75"   $900--$1,200

Ingraham & Co., "Nabob", 8-day time/strike walnut mantel clock.   Condition: Stripped walnut case is in good condition.  The top has been broken and repaired.  The marbleized door has some damage on the lower right edge.  The clock is missing two acorn shaped drops that fit on each side of the case.  The door glass was originally stenciled, now clear.  The dial has age darkened.  The hands and pendulum are original.  Worth some additional TLC.  Ht 21.5   $125--$225

193.   C.1890, Specialty Clock with Seth Thomas movement.  Se Ly's 1996 Seth Thomas book, page 172 for similar burglar alarm cased clocks. There were other specialized clocks for hotels and fire departments.  This one has large double spring time movement with central alarm disc.  Condition:  The light fruitwood case has lots of detailed carving, still in nice condition; the case has been stripped. There is an old colored foto of Ecko Lake, Franconia notch in the glass area below the dial.  The top portion of the main tablet is original, as is the lower tablet over the pendulum {black & gold}  Ht 34"   $300--$400

195.   C.1930, Newark Clock Co., Inc., Newark, NJ., 8-day kitchen wall timepiece {from Germany}.  Condition: Delft designed porcelain tile made in Germany is in pretty good condition with a small flake on the corner on the back.  The tile has some brown staining at the lower mounting screws.  The hands and pendulum are original.   The Newark Clock Co. must have had these made in Germany and only was merchandising them.  The firm was in business from 1926 to 1941.  If they were still selling this item in 1941, they probably could not get any more because of the war.  This example is especially clean, and the movement is running briskly.  Ht 8.75"   $50--$100

200.   Calendar Movement only, C.1868-70, Atkins 30 Day fusee movement with solid plates and cast iron attachment for fusees.  It will surprise most readers that this fusee movement was used into the 1870s in both the large octagonal gallery and in the London model.  This movement is unique in that it retains its original rear cam.  Examples of this movement {without the calendar cam} can be viewed in the new book THE CLOCKS OF IRENUS ATKINS, by Gregory & King, pages 55 & 81.  Ht of plates = 6.25", with fusees, 9".  Note one wheel is loose due to broken pivot.  $150--$250

204.   C.1910, Seth Thomas, 4-Glass crystal regulator with gilt spelter top and bottom, sheet brass on the very top.  Condition: we do not find this model showing in the Seth Thomas catalog, however, it is definitely a factory model.  The good porcelain dial bears Seth Thomas signature in script, and with original hands.  The pendulum is missing 2 of its nuts, and a third is incorrect; you will want to buy or make 4 to match.  Ht 11"   $100--$150

205.   C.1905, German, 3/4 Westminster Chime mantel clock in a round top mahogany case.  Condition:  this clock came from a home in Windham and is in generally good condition with minor scrapes to the case.  The movement is sound and ticking.  Note that it chimes Westminster segments on the quarters, but reports the hours only when the minute hand reaches 12.  ht 12"   $175--$225

206.   C.1895, Jennings Brothers Mfg Co., Chicago, ladies boudoir clock, patinated white metal with 30 hour timepiece movement with porcelain dial.  Condition:  Other than the seconds hand being missing, this clock is in nice, original condition.  It does tick for a while and then stop, so all movement parts are intact.  There is one minor hairline in the cream colored dial, going across from 10 to 2.  Still a very attractive clock in the Rococo style.  Ht 10"   $75--$125

208.   Mixed Lot, Austrian 2-weight movement, C.1870, now in a C.1915, walnut box style regulator case with 6 panes of beveled glass.  Condition: the case has some splits in the front of the door, and evidence of some wood filler.  The well made movement strikes the hours and halves on a coiled wire gong mounted to the back plate of the movement.  The 4-post movement mount is up on a block, and there are filled holes where the original mount was removed.  Still a decorative clock that seems to run OK.  Many of these cases were separated from their movements during and after WWII, and although we strive for originality, at least this is a practical combination.  Ht 40"  $300--$400

209.   Mixed lot, running OK, C.1860, German key lock case & key, now with a C.1910 spring movement with embossed dial center and pendulum.  Condition: The restorer has covered the back of the rosewood case with red velour to help disguise the movement change.  The beat scale is from a Seth Thomas #2.  This clock runs fine as a decorator {perfect for camp or cabin} or can be used for parts; probably had a dwarf style weight movement to begin with.  Ht 29"    $200--$300

218.   C.1870, French, Bronze & Marble Figural clock, /Reclining Harvest/ with a sickle in one hand and a sheaf of wheat in the other hand, 8-day time and strike.  Condition:  The case lost its 4 bronze feet and someone cut this walnut base to fit over the threads for the feet.  The movement has been cleaned and is in good running order.  This is an extremely heavy clock.  Her left arm has lost most of its bronze patina and is now showing brass.  If with original feet would be $900 for sure.  Ht 12.5"   $400--$600

219.   C.1902 Seth Thomas Clock Co., "Queen Anne", 8-day oak time and strike wall clock {stained dark walnut}.  Condition:  This clock had a hard life, lost its door and bottom which have been newly made by a fellow who had only a drawing to look at and did not know the proper 3rd dimension {technically competent, but totally incorrect}.  Also dial mask is new and dial repainted.  Gong standard intact; gong in bottom of case. 220.   C.1915, German, Gustav Becker, 2-Wt Box  regulator, in a dark mahogany case with a nice door insert with 5 heavy panes of beveled glass, brass banded.  Condition:  this clock has been professionally restored.  The movement mounts in the case on a typical 4 post bracket, and strikes on a single straight steel rod.  The porcelain dial has Arabic numerals, and hands commensurate with the date of the clock.  Ht 39"  $350--$450

221.   C.1920, Czech {Tschechoslovakia}, 2-Wt Box regulator, single rod strike.  Condition:  this clock has been professionally restored, the movement cleaned and the case polished.  By this point in time we see only one large pane of beveled glass in the door.  Case is a light walnut with pleasant honey color.  Dial center and pendulum have interesting Art Nouveau pattern with blossoms.  Pulleys and weights are modern.  You need to move top of clock out from wall slightly for pendulum to clear strike rod. Co., "No. 1 Drop Octagon, Calendar", 8-day wall, time & calendar. Condition: Refinished rosewood veneered case is in extra nice condition with a couple of small veneer chips on the back edges of the octagon top.  Original painted dial has a little loss around the winding hole.  Calendar hand is missing, but it is readily available.  Calendar mechanism is intact.  There is a nice label on the back.  For reference, see Ly's Welch book, 85.  Ht 25.5"   $225--$325

223.   C.1875 Seth Thomas Clock Co., "Cincinnati", 8-day time/strike city series walnut shelf clock. Condition: Walnut veneered case is in good condition refinished long ago, & with minor veneer loss on the right side of the base and some minor loss to the ebonized areas.   Original gold leaf columns are now overpainted with gold.   Finials have been replaced {and not proper profile}.  Original dial has been inpainted in the flaked areas and needs professional help.  Original tablet is flaking a little.  See also lot 554. 225.   C.1858 Bradley & Hubbard, West Meriden, Conn., 8-day time/strike black enameled iron with MOP mantel clock.  Condition: Enameled case is in good condition with old finish, some touch up {would also have had some gold stenciling that is now absent.  Minor wear to the painted finish on the top and other places from normal use and a some loss to the MOP.  Dial paper is new.  Movement is by Waterbury {early pre-civil war trademark on movement} .  There is a nice label on the backboard.  Hands appear to be original.  Original bezel has separated from the hinge and will need attention.   Ht 11"   $125--$175

Welch Mfg Co., "Verdi", 8-day time/strike wall clock.     Condition: Rosewood veneered case is in very fine condition with original finish.  Minor veneer damage on the back edge of the bottom, a small piece missing just below the door and small piece missing on one side.  Original painted dial with a little flaking and seconds dial pretty much worn off.  Pendulum and large hands are original.  Seconds hand is a replacement, and needs to have stem shortened.   A hard clock to find with veneer in this nice condition.    Ht 31"   $450--$550

230.   C.1900 Anglo-American, 8-day time/strike Octagon long drop, probably by British United Clock Co.  Condition: Walnut veneered case is in very nice condition with original finish and has the appearance of a Welch Verdi.  Segments that make up the octagon part of the case became loose at one time and were reglued, but will need some are attention to align them better, and remove some excess glue.  Original painted dial with minor flaking and wear has had the numbers touched up.   Original movement appears to have been made by Ansonia {or British United}, but is not marked. Pendulum rod has been repaired adequately, but will need further attention.  Two glasses are original and the unusual hands look original.  Ht 31"   $300--$400

231.   C.1890, Ansonia, Black Marble Mantel clock with porcelain dial and open escapement.  Condition:  this clock came from Oceanside, NY, and is in very good condition; corners have chips, but overall it is quite good.  Dial is xlnt.  Movement has not been serviced in some time, but is complete and sound.  Note nice bronze trim either side of dial and gilding intact on case.  We could not find this exact model in the Ansonia catalog. 232.   C.1875 Terry Clock Co., 30-hour lot of 2 timepieces.  Condition: The round top is in good condition with original paint that is flaked a little and has some wear.  The other model has been repainted and decorated with colored paint spots.  The dial on the round top has age darkened, while the other model has painted dial that is flaking and is dark.  The hands on both models are original.  The round top has a nice label on the back.  Ht 6.25"  One bid for both  $75--$150

234.   C.1850, French, Morbier with Crown Wheel escapement, porcelain dial and large repoussé pendulum.  Condition:   The movement has been cleaned and restrung; porcelain dial is very good.  Weights are from an 8-day OG, and more than adequate.  You will need to make a bracket or shelf to hang the clock.  Also the dial mask has been brushed with gold paint that you might want to remove so it matches the pendulum.  Like most Morbiers, this has a prayer repeating strike, that sounds the strike a second time at 2 minutes after the hour.  Ht 54"  $375--$475

235.   C.1850 Chauncey Jerome, New Haven, Conn., 30-hour time/strike/calendar gallery clock.   Condition: The black painted case with MOP is in good condition with some loss of the MOP and a some wear to the applied gold decoration.  Signed dial is worn and flaked in various areas and has been inpainted, but will need professional restoration.  Hands are original, but the minute hand has been shortened a little.  Lever movement is signed.  It is uncommon to find a calendar on this model.  Ht 13.25"   $300--$400

J.Davies, New York, Figural clock of Mozart as a boy, black iron case with white metal trim.  Condition:  the metal trim parts have been brushed over with gold paint.  The original dial has wear and some streaking.  The movement is signed Davies, N and is complete with stop works.  A nice early figural clock, probably produced in Brooklyn.  Ht 16"  $350--$450

237.   C.1930, A. Schadow & Son, New York, NY,  30-hour mechanical timepiece, with electric lamps, bronze finish, white metal, and in very nice condition.  One of the leaves on the right light stem has been repaired and one is missing from the left light stem {only obvious on very close inspection}.  The clock was supplied by The E. Ingraham Co. and is marked on the back of the movement cover.  The silvered brass dial and beveled front glass are perfect.  The hands are original.  This item retains its original finish and shows good care over the last 70 years.  Would suggest renewing cord before using as lamp; a great looking example.  Ht  15.5"  $200--$300

238.   C.1929, New Haven Clock Co., "12 Inch Balcony", 8-day time only with restorations.  Condition:  The bottom board of the door frame has been replaced {was missing when previous owner acquired the clock}, and has not been beveled on the inner and outer edges, but still looks OK. 246.   C.1910, German for the French market, round walnut gallery clock, some call this a baker's clock since most French bakeries seem to have them.  Condition:  in nice restored condition, from a retail shop, the case is refinished, the movement cleaned and regulated.  Reverse painted glass dial has some repair to flaked paint at 9 o'clock  {looks OK}  Ready for home or shop. You might touch a tissue against the going barrels as they are leaking some oil, but everything is clean as a whistle.  Ht 16"  $200--$300

256.   C.1855 American Clock Co., NY /label absent, but this company likelyEight-day time/strike iron front shelf clock.  Condition: Coppery finish on the iron is old, but not original {looks OK}.  The case is marked "Patent 1852" cast on both sides of the door and could be a Mueller pattern, but we could not find any signature {many Muellers are white metal, while this is iron}.  The movement is a typical Connecticut type, original to the clock.   There is no label.  The paper dial & minute hands have been replaced. We have not seen this particular case with the hinged iron door over the pendulum. Mid nineteenth Century Americana for a low investment.  Ht 17"   $125--$225
