We recognize that the viewing time is short, compared to the large number of items, and we appreciate your taking care in handling the clocks & watches. We understand the importance of a first hand look at movements, but we reserve the right to limit the handling of fragile items.

Chris Bailey will be on hand during the viewing to answer questions of age, origin or mechanical function on clocks. An attendant will be on duty at the watch table as well.

15. C.1800, Austrian Quarter Repeating coach watch in very good condition. The verge/chain fusee movement in sound order & repeating well. The numerals are rubbed off the silvered dial, and gilding rubbed off the case; still a nice example; dia=4" ht 6" $500-700

27. Elgin, 8s, 11j, ls movement in a 14K hunting case in crispy condition with twisty rope design (engine turned) around lids and band. Pill box style. A very nice watch with some small dimples in lids. Monogram in shield. $250-300

C.1880, Austrian, 8-day miniature icon clock. the plinth & base are lead crystal; the front of case with enamel on silver decorations, featuring a winged child in the top cameo & a young man + woman resting at the roadside on the bottom. Exquisite detail. Nicely jeweled lever watch mvmt with oversize spring. Ht 4" $750-1000

50. C.1920, Warren Clock Co., Ashland, MA, 110v. mahogany cased wall clock with early dual power "pendulette" mov't that could run up to an hour with power off. Orig finish & dial. Unit only hums when plugged in; will need attn. Ht 11" $50-75

51. C.1840, Connecticut 30 hour ww pillar & splat with overpaste label of James Weston, 8 Elliot St (dated) 1839, Boston). This clock runs OK, but the entire front door is new. Minute hand incorrect. Ht 32" $90-120

52. C.1935, Seth Thomas, mahogany tambour with contrasting veneer panels below silvered dial. Good #89 mov't strikes on spiral gong; "ST" hands. Ht 10" $50-75

53. C.1855, Daniel Pratt, Reading, Mass, label on round band & cornice (Jerome ?) clock. 30 hour weight driven brass mov't with original wooden dial. This clock comes with a bonus: good C.1820 scroll top (with tip repairs) that can be removed for appropriate use (finials are newer). Ht 31" $175-225

54. C.1920, Gilbert "Curfew" in restored condition; dial has been repapered and case re-blacked; rear dust cover is loose, as are feet; minor work will correct problems; ht 17" $100-150

55. C.1930, Sessions mahogany shelf clock, less rear door. Steel plated mov't was restored in 1871. Ticks & strikes OK; ht 13" $20-40

56. C.1930, Ingraham "Colgate" shelf clock in a golden oak case; note clock lacks hands; dial is original; height 11" $20-40

57. C.1910, French, oak cased 8-day mantle clock, as-found. Small chip in top of case; neat black slate dial with gilt numerals; bell strike mov't; ht 9" $50-70

58. C.1920, New Haven gothic shelf clock, 8-day. Note the veneer is absent and the pine carcass has been stained walnut color. Dial repapered; ht 10" $20-40

59. C.1930, Sessions #975 Tambour clock, mahogany with contrasting inlay. Nice dual note / bim-bam strike; sound but needs cleaning. Ht 9.5" $30-50

60. C.1940, Seth Thomas "Plymouth" line tambour, mahogany with inlay. Steel rod strike, #89 mov't. Hands replaced, but overall sound; ht 9" $30-50

61. C.1930, Gilbert "Duluth" black mantle clock, less entire rear cover; has steel plate mov't. Feet have been repainted gold. Height 11" $20-30

62. C.1895, English 30-hour mantle clock, small mahogany case with turned pillars. interesting copy of American open spring, bell strike mov't with British refinements. Porcelain dial; S/F adj through the bezel, etc. Case lacks one veneer strip. Ht 9" $30-50

63. C.1900 Ansonia "Unique", black enameled iron clock in poor condition, the rear iron panel is replaced with wood and case is sprayed black; mov't & dial OK; height 10.5" $20-30

64. C.1900, Ingraham pressed oak gingerbread, T/S/Alarm, as-found. The tablet is cracked, pend wrong, dial is badly stained, requires full restoration, 22" $40-60

65. C.1830, Daniel Pratt label on an interesting case with mirror strips in the mahogany side columns. The ww mov't & dial are from another clock, but dial is fabulous, with strawberry corners; top capitals & splat are new. Parts for the brave. Height 35" $90-120

66. C.1850, New York Clock Co, 297 Pearl St, NY label on a Chauncey Jerome 30 hour OG with wooden dial; note clock is distressed with no seat board, no hands & minor veneer chips; Has weights; ht 26" $40-60

67. C.1935, Int'l Time Recording Co., the top 2/3 of a former time punch clock; the case has been cut off just below the door, and the original bottom tacked back on. Makes a robust timepiece; ht 26" $50-75

68. C.1975, Patrick Terry, Warsaw, Indiana. A descendant of Eli made these repros with a German spring mov't. The lines of the clock are faithfully reproduced, but with crude reinforcement to the backboard. Good decorator; height 32" $175-275

69. C.1940, Chelsea Deck Clock #2, as-found, less platform. Black dial with worn silvered numerals; hands are all present, but not visible in photo; heavy cast brass case w/ screw bezel; dial=3.75", ht 5.5" $50-80

70. Lot of 3 small clocks: Seth Thos, 4-jewel Gothic with damaged porcelain dial, ht 5"; small French desk timepiece with chipped porcelain dial; platform OK, ht 6", & a small New Haven boudoir clock, intact & ticking; ht 6" $60-80 all

71. C.1870, E. N. Welch 8-day beehive. Rosewood veneer has a couple of large chips, however dial & tablet are original and label is worn but legible. Generally sound; height 19" $125-175

72. C.1860, E. & A. Ingraham, 30 hour brass works OG. This clock is a bit crippled; case has been stripped, label & dial flaking badly. Still what's there came there and could be restored; ht 26" $75-100

73. C.1995, (dated) #5-24 Soviet Submarine clock, as new with wall mounting bracket, in working order. This clock has a substantial cast aluminum case that twists onto a PVC backing; spring mov't; ht 8" $75-125

74. C.1949 (dated) Schatz 4-ball 400 day clock with stylized round deco dial; with dome; ht 11" $20-30

75. C.1960, Kundo, small 4-ball year clock; ivory painted dial + accents; with dome, height 9" $15-25

76. C.1860, German painted dial clock; wooden plates with wooden arbors, now on a modern bracket and with modern pendulum (too heavy). 30 hour rope drive mvt; minute arbor broken and hand missing; dial = 8 x 11". $90-120

77. C.1910, Seth Thomas mahogany tambour clock in excellent order. #89 mov't recently cleaned & oiled. Super porcelain dial; height 9", ready to enjoy. $40-60

85. C.1905, Ansonia black enameled iron clock, clean & restored, running OK. Although only a paper dial model, this economy line clock is a good beginner item; ht 11" $75-100

86. C.1900, E. Ingraham & Co., a good, as-found walnut gingerbread, all original; finish, dial & pend. Needs general cleaning but is way above average; another good beginner clock; height 21" $100-150

87. C.1900 E. Ingraham & Co., a good oak gingerbread, T/S/Alarm. The mov't has been cleaned + dial repapered; orig crusty shellac intact on case. With orig. "Butler Brothers" promotional label; 22" $!00-150

88. C.1950, Seth Thomas striking bracket clock with handle; good #120 mov't (clean) mounted in a solid mahogany case with good porcelain dial; cast spelter bezel has cracked in 2 places, & needs attn. Overall nice, height 9.5". $100-150

89. C.1900, New Haven pressed oak gingerbread clock with alarm. Case has been refinished, dial repapered & mov't cleaned; ht 22" $90-120

90. C.1915, Seth Thomas Adamantine, "Dana #3" in as-found cond. Mov't is dirty but complete; celluloid with minor edge chips+discolored on base; ht 11" $60-80

91. C.1900, Seth Thomas, oak gingerbread with alarm. This clock needs some attention: the case has been stripped 7 needs finish; the dial is discolored, hands incorrect + has an Ansonia pendulum. Ht 24" $75-100

92. C.1890, German open well "Berlin" style wall clock with original top. 8-day T/S movement with porcelain dial. Glass is missing from door & very top trim (probably an eagle) replaced with a finial; hands incorrect; still the case is sound and has potential; height 30" $175-225

93. C.1930, Chelsea 8-day engine room clock, 3.75" dial, now mounted in a mahogany tambour case. Some scuff marks on the wood, but clock is running OK; ht 9" $175-275

94. C.1850, Brewster & Ingrahams, Bristol, Conn, good as-found 8-day beehive, has a big veneer chip on left side, but orig dial, tablet & label are great; height 19" $125-175

95. C.1870, E. Ingraham & Co., 8-day candy stripe Doric, T/S/Alarm, as-found, missing a 2" hunk of stripe on left side + a smaller piece on right; has original floral tablet in nice cond; ht 16" $125-175

96. C.1920, Chelsea 3/4 size house strike banjo, as-found. The original silvered dial is signed Tiffany & Co., New York. The lower tablet has been replaced with a wooden panel. Runs OK; potential; ht 32" $500-700

97. C.1960, modern Chelsea movement with a 24 hour dial in good shape, mounted in a home made stand with a LaRose bezel. Center seconds; ht 9" $120-160

98. C.1990, Good quality, modern repro mahogany wall case, similar to late Biedermeier. Will take a deep mov't (up to 5") and up to 9" dial; door length is 33". With a heavy pane of beveled glass; ht 4" $175-225

99. C.1870, Ansonia 8-day T/S/Alarm beehive in good original condition; note only part of geometric tablet remains; dial & finish are orig; mov't freshly cleaned & going well; ht 19" $175-225

100. C.1870, E. Howard & Co., Boston, #5 Banjo. the case movement & pendulum are old; the dial is all new as are tablets. Case has been refinished. Minute hand is loose from the hub; ht 29" Potential $900-1200

101. C.1875, E. Ingraham & Co., "Octagon Doric, Gilt Column", 1-Day strike in very clean condition. Movement is overhauled & running well; dial original; rosewood case refinished & columns regilded; pend new; ht 16" $125-175

101-a. C.1920, Waltham Clock Co., unknown wall regulator. This clock has some problems: someone started to refinish the case & stopped; the good Waltham mov't is up on 2 blocks, with 3 machine screws through the back. Hands new, pendulum + weight new. Now, the dial & dial surround have not been refinished and retain good Waltham signature. Height 37.5" $500-700

101-b. 18th Century Brass Dial movement (with extra features) now associated with a 19th Century oak case, as-found, quite dirty. Note this clock has a 10" dial with double cherub & crown spandrels, separate minute & hour hands, a moon ring and an aperture showing moon phases, a 1-31 date ring/aperture, and a seconds bit. Typical country English bird cage frame with 30 hour rope or chain mov't. No pend, no weight, no pulley; height 80" $900-1200

101-c. C.1900, a quality Boston area 8-day lever movement modified to fit in a custom made carriage clock case. The fellow who made this must have 1000 hours in it; every panel is fitted to the next with fine machine screws and the 4 turned columns are exact matches. The whole nickel plated and reassembled; painted dial with ocean front scene; height 8" $100-200

102. A lot of 3 19th Century barometer cases, one Boston area, complete, and 2 English banjo cases, less rear doors & hardware; ht 43" $150-200

103. C.1925, New Haven "Washington" full size octagon top Westminster chime banjo. Note the lower tablet is flaking badly and the center one improperly repainted. Call Fred Catterall. Mov't needs clean. Height 41" $275-375

104. C.1835, Riley Whiting, Winchester, Conn, 30 hour ww stenciled column & splat. What this clock needs is another old dial that isn't double drilled + another set of hands. The case itself is brilliant & label xlnt; height 35" $150-200

105. C.1870, Welch Spring & Co, Italian No. 1, 8-day T/S/Alarm in rosewood. This clock retains orig dial, finish & eagle tablet. Movement(s) recently cleaned & working well. Some nicks & scrapes on case need attn; label poor; overall very good; height 19" $175-225

106. C.1840, French Comptoise Tall Clock, as-found. the 2-weight repeating movement has a crown wheel/verge 'scape and is freshly overhauled. The porcelain dial is signed Gean-Gean, Chirondelle. The case took a tumble and has come unglued; molding & new left foot are in bag. Potential; height 88" $500-700

107. C.1840, an English 8-day painted dial movement, now in a C.1900 golden oak purpose made case, with twisty columns to the hood. The dial is signed: Jas. Wilson, Hawick. The bell standard on the mov't is broken. Good old weights & pend; ht 84" $900-1200

108. C.1910, French time only carriage clock in a simple brass case with good beveled glass & porcelain dial. Cylinder platform is intact + running well. Nice beginner level carriage in small size; handle up ht = 5". $100-150

109. C.1910, German, rare "Cobbler" double animation alarm clock; the case & bells are rusty, but the clock works & alarms. The left man is busy brushing a boot and the right worker wields a hammer in his left hand and is nailing on a heel. The alarm clock is old, however the dial and animation are recent additions. A great novelty; height 7" $250-350

110. A good 19th century Austrian 1-weight movement in a new Korean serpentine mahogany case. Runs well & looks the part; decent decorator; height 44" $300-500

111. C.1850, Bristol Brass & Clock Co., Forestville, Conn; a good early 8-day steeple. the movement is marked E. N. Welch (related Co.). The case was refinished some time ago. Original dial flaking. Tablet of Buckingham Palace - badly flaked; height 19.5" $125-175

112. C.1855, E & A Ingrahams paper mache shelf clock with original decorations and nearly all MOP intact. Original signed with touch-up at 9. Nice full label and 30 hour striking mov't in good running order. Good beginner clock; height 17" $175-275

113. C.1845, Brewster & Ingrahams beehive in rosewood. 8-day B & I mov't. Door retains orig ivory escutcheon & Terry style lock. Orig heart shaped etched tablet is outstanding; label dark but legible; ht 19" $225-325

114. C.1855, E. C. Brewster & Sons, 30 hour brass spring full size steeple in excellent original condition. Xlnt dial with good signature; super label & tablet; veneer excellent. This is a hard to find label; clock from a home in Concord, NH; ht 20" Good beginner item. $150-200

A-21. C.1870, Jerome & Co., New Haven, 8-day rosewood cottage with gilt gesso door; part of the gilding is rubbed off & door latch is missing; dial starting to flake; still an interesting cottage clock; ht 12" $60-80

A-22. C.1870, Jerome & Co., New Haven, 30 hour T/S/Alarm cottage clock. Case is skinned of veneer; only pine remains. With Gutta Purcha tablet; ht 13" $50-70

A-23. C.1910, German, Junghans mantle clock (like Seth T. "Perth"); note small chip in veneer; pendulum is home-made; will restore OK; ht 11" $50-70

A-24. C.1910, 8-day T/S parts clock; the case is from a Waterbury Electric and the movement is from an Ansonia Cabinet series; ht 13" $25-35

A-25. C.1920, a married oak timepiece store regulator. Quality oak case with full glass front; now with a Waterbury movement, dial, pendulum & key. Movement is crooked and dial is turned left about 5; 35" $125-175

A-26. C.1975, German, for Horolovar & Co., repro Ignatz flying pendulum clock. This clock sat in the sun & is faded & the ball is a replacement. Still seems to run OK. height 10" $75-100

A-27. C.1930, L & R "Master" watch cleaning machine, 4-station with 2 extra jars; great for small parts; height 20" $20-40

A-28. C.1910, Sessions oak long drop octagon school clock. The finish is original on this clock, but it has a new paper dial, new hands and a German pendulum. A little work will improve this clock; ht 32" $225-275

A-29. C.1890, Self Winding Clock Co., NY, Regulator #18 in oak. (Similar to ST #30) Note bottom trim is missing & veneer is gone from rt side of case; mov't dirty and lacks seconds hand; parts or restore; height 45" $275-375

A-30. C.1928 (dated), pair of "Tork" 250v (Max) mechanical clock circuit timers with original instruction booklet; height 10" $20-40 all
